About me

Hi, I'm Nicole

Chief Courage Officer

I’m the Founder and Chief Courage Officer at Neon Shed, which brings light to the dark sides of work.

I eliminate psychosocial hazards at work and ignite courage in leaders and teams by giving them the tools and options to know HOW to have a safe workplace.

I have over 20 years experience in communications and 15 in the work health and safety industry. I’ve worked for both NSW safety regulators, the workers compensation insurer and the workers compensation independent review office.

I’ve seen the damage poor communication and psychosocial hazards can do to individuals, teams and organisations.

I’m the Winner of the 2023 Influential Businesswomen Awards for Most Empowering Founder (Australia) and the host of the Under the Rug at Work podcast.

About Neon Shed

Neon Shed exists to bring light to the 7 dark sides of work and support individuals and organisations to eliminate these issues.

Remember being young and afraid of the dark? In the shadows you were sure you saw a monster… But once you turned the light on, it disappeared. The monster was only a sock, a toy, a shadow.

That’s what I do. I work with companies that understand they have some dark corners and aren’t afraid to bring light in. I shine a light on the issue to lessen the burden and reduce the fear. I provide tools that ensure positive change.

My vision is for a world where people know their rights, have the courage to demand a safe workplace and are empowered to speak up when they see the dark sides of work. A world where leaders and employers know how to prevent and manage these issues, and repair the harm where they can.

What's important to me

I’m committed to spreading joy, positivity, meaning and laughter.

I’m always open to collaborating with individuals and organisations on ways we can leverage our skills and add value to the world.

If you’d like to talk about how we can work together, get in touch.

I acknowledge the Traditional Owners of country throughout Australia and recognise their continuing connection to land, water and culture. I pay respects to their Elders past, present and emerging.

I live, work and care for land on Worimi Country.
