Resilience training doesn’t work

To help improve mental health in the workplace, organisations often invest in ‘Building Resilience Training’.

While this type of training can be great, and I’ve learnt a lot of great tips when I’ve attended courses, they can often fail because the fundamentals aren’t there.

Most people don’t need to be more resilient

. They need work pressures and stress reduced

.

What does this look like?

If the workload is too much, people don’t have any control over their work, they have a horrible boss or there’s #bullying and harassment – no amount of training will help them be more #resilient.

Fix the issues and you’ll find mental health and wellbeing will improve at work.

Resilience training is great, but if you don’t have the basics, it won’t help.
